Smart Describe Lite – Installation

How to Install Smart Describe for WooCommerce

Introduction

Smart Describe by Cazgrae is an AI-powered plugin designed to help WooCommerce store owners streamline product content creation.

This guide walks you through installing and activating Smart Describe on your WordPress website so you can prepare to use the features included in your version.

You do not need to be a developer to follow these steps, although you will need access to your WordPress administration area.

Before You Begin

Before installing Smart Describe, check the following:

  • WordPress access: You can sign in to your website’s WordPress dashboard with an account that has permission to install plugins.
  • WooCommerce: WooCommerce is installed and activated on your website.
  • Plugin download: You have obtained the correct Smart Describe ZIP file for the version you intend to install.
  • Website backup: You have a recent backup of your website, particularly if you are installing the plugin on a live store.
  • Compatibility: Your WordPress and WooCommerce versions meet the requirements stated for your Smart Describe release.

If you are installing Smart Describe Pro, make sure you have the correct Pro download rather than the Lite version.

Step 1: Download Smart Describe

  1. Visit the official Cazgrae website.
  2. Navigate to the Smart Describe product page.
  3. Choose the version you want to install.
  4. Download the plugin ZIP file to your computer.

Keep the ZIP file intact. WordPress normally expects you to upload the plugin as a ZIP file rather than extract it first.

If you have purchased Smart Describe Pro, use the download supplied for your purchase.

Step 2: Sign In to WordPress

  1. Open your website’s WordPress administration login page.
  2. Sign in with an account that has permission to install plugins.
  3. From the dashboard, navigate to Plugins → Add New Plugin.

The exact wording may differ slightly between WordPress versions.

Step 3: Upload the Plugin

  1. Select Upload Plugin at the top of the page.
  2. Click Choose File.
  3. Locate the Smart Describe ZIP file on your computer.
  4. Select the file.
  5. Click Install Now.
  6. Wait for WordPress to complete the installation.

Do not navigate away while the installation is in progress.

If WordPress reports that the uploaded file is not a valid plugin, check that you selected the original plugin ZIP file rather than a downloaded webpage or an incorrectly packaged folder.

Step 4: Activate Smart Describe

When installation finishes, WordPress should display an option to activate the plugin.

  1. Click Activate Plugin.
  2. Wait for WordPress to return to the plugin screen.
  3. Check that Smart Describe appears in your installed plugins list and is active.

If you are installing Smart Describe Pro, follow the activation instructions supplied with that release. Any separate licence activation or account connection should be completed only if the plugin requires it.

Step 5: Confirm the Installation

After activation:

  1. Open Plugins → Installed Plugins.
  2. Find Smart Describe in the list.
  3. Confirm that its status is active.
  4. Look for the plugin’s menu or settings area in the WordPress dashboard.

The exact menu location depends on the installed release. If you cannot find it, check the plugin’s description under Installed Plugins and the documentation supplied with your download.

At this stage, the plugin should be installed. You may need to complete additional configuration before using its AI features.

Step 6: Complete Any Required Configuration

Depending on your Smart Describe version, additional setup may be required before you can generate content.

Open the plugin’s settings and review the available options.

If your version requires an AI provider connection, API key, licence activation or other configuration, follow the instructions for that specific feature.

Important: Do not assume that an AI service is ready to use simply because the plugin has been activated. Complete any required configuration and use the available test or verification function if one is provided.

Keep API keys and licence details private. Do not publish them on your website or share them in public support requests.

Step 7: Test Smart Describe on a Product

Before using the plugin across your catalogue, test it with one product.

  1. Go to Products → All Products.
  2. Open a product you can safely use for testing.
  3. Locate the Smart Describe functions available for your installed version.
  4. Follow the plugin’s instructions to run the relevant feature.
  5. Review the result carefully.
  6. Save changes only when you are satisfied with the content.

Check that the generated content accurately describes the product. Confirm important details such as dimensions, materials, colours, variations and included items.

If you are testing image alt text, verify that the text describes the actual image and is useful to someone who cannot see it.

Do not start with a bulk operation until you have confirmed that the plugin works as expected on an individual product.

Troubleshooting Installation Problems

WordPress says the ZIP file is invalid

Check that you downloaded the correct Smart Describe ZIP file and that it has not been extracted or repackaged.

If the problem continues, download the file again from the official source.

The plugin will not install

Check that your WordPress account has permission to install plugins.

Your hosting provider may also impose upload-size or file-permission restrictions. Contact your hosting provider if the problem appears to be server-related.

Smart Describe is installed but does not appear in the dashboard

Open Plugins → Installed Plugins and confirm that the plugin is active.

If it is active but you cannot find its menu, consult the documentation for your installed version. Also check whether your account has the permissions required to access the plugin.

Activation produces an error

Do not repeatedly activate and deactivate the plugin without investigating the problem.

Record the error message and check the plugin’s stated compatibility requirements. If your website displays a critical error, use your hosting provider’s recovery tools or restore a known-good backup if necessary.

Contact Cazgrae support with the exact error message and relevant version information.

The AI feature does not work

Successful installation does not necessarily mean that all AI features are configured.

Check any required API credentials, provider settings, licence status and connection requirements specified for your version. If a test function is available, run it and record the result.

Never include secret API keys in screenshots or public support requests.

Installation Complete

Smart Describe should now be installed and activated on your WooCommerce website.

Your next step is to learn how to use the plugin’s available features and test them with a product before applying changes across your catalogue.
