Caz Event Manager Pro creates events as WooCommerce products.
The easiest way to create an event is through the dedicated Caz Events administration area. Caz Event Manager creates the underlying WooCommerce product and applies the event settings automatically.
An event can contain:
- Event name
- Event date
- Start and finish time
- Venue
- Capacity
- Price
- Event image
- Description
- Published or draft status
Before You Start
Before creating your first event, make sure:
- WooCommerce is installed and active.
- Caz Event Manager Pro is installed and activated.
- You have permission to manage Caz Events.
- Your WooCommerce store is configured for customer checkout and payment.
Step 1 — Open Caz Events
From the WordPress administration area, go to:
Caz Events
The Caz Events area provides access to your events and the event-management functions.
Select:
Add New
The button uses your configured event terminology.
For example, if the site’s event label is configured as Workshop, the option will appear as:
Add New Workshop
If the terminology has been changed to Class, it will use the configured label instead.
Step 2 — Enter the Event Name
Enter the name of the event.
For example:
Beginner Mosaic Workshop
The event name becomes the title of the underlying WooCommerce product and is displayed to customers on the website.
Use a clear name that tells customers what the event is.
Step 3 — Set the Event Date
Enter the date on which the event will take place.
For example:
15 November 2026
The event date is stored with the WooCommerce product and is used by Caz Event Manager throughout the event-management system.
The date is also used when displaying and sorting upcoming events.
Step 4 — Set the Event Time
Enter the event’s:
Start time
and
Finish time
For example:
10:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Caz Event Manager stores the start and finish times separately.
This allows the public event information, calendar and event communications to display the scheduled time of the event.
Step 5 — Enter the Venue
Enter the location where the event will take place.
For example:
Cazgrae Studio
The venue is displayed as part of the event information.
Additional information such as parking, directions or access instructions can be included in the event description.
Step 6 — Set the Capacity
Enter the maximum number of people who can attend the event.
For example:
Capacity: 20
Caz Event Manager uses this value to determine how many places are available.
If the event has:
Capacity: 20
and 15 places have been booked:
15 booked → 5 places remaining
When the capacity is reached, the event closes to normal bookings.
Customers can then be offered the option to join the waitlist when the waitlist feature is enabled.
For more information, see:
Capacity & Availability
Step 7 — Set the Price
Enter the price for the event.
For example:
$65.00
The price becomes the regular WooCommerce product price.
Customers therefore purchase their event place through the normal WooCommerce checkout.
The price can be changed later by editing the event.
Step 8 — Add an Event Image
Caz Event Manager allows you to select an image for the event.
Click:
Add Image
and select an image from the WordPress Media Library.
The selected image becomes the event’s featured image.
An existing event image can be replaced by selecting:
Change Image
You can also remove the image if required.
A good event image helps customers identify the event when browsing the public event listing.
Step 9 — Add the Event Description
Enter the event description using the WordPress editor.
Use the description to tell customers what they can expect from the event.
Useful information can include:
- What the event involves
- What customers will learn
- What is included
- Materials provided
- What customers should bring
- Experience requirements
- Age requirements
- Venue information
- Parking information
- Accessibility information
- Cancellation information
The description becomes the main content of the WooCommerce product associated with the event.
Step 10 — Choose the Event Status
Caz Event Manager provides two event status options:
Published
or
Draft
Published
Choose Published when the event is ready to appear on your website and accept bookings.
Draft
Choose Draft when the event is still being prepared.
A draft allows you to save the event without making it publicly available.
This is useful when you want to prepare an event before announcing it to customers.
Step 11 — Create the Event
Review the information you have entered:
- Name
- Date
- Start time
- Finish time
- Venue
- Capacity
- Price
- Image
- Description
- Status
When everything is correct, select:
Create Event
Caz Event Manager creates the underlying WooCommerce product and saves the event information.
The event is then returned to the Caz Events event list.
What Caz Event Manager Creates
When an event is created through the Caz Events interface, the plugin creates a WooCommerce product and automatically applies the required event information.
The product is marked as:
This product is an event
The event information is stored with the WooCommerce product, including:
- Event date
- Start time
- Finish time
- Venue
- Capacity
The configured price is also saved as the WooCommerce product price.
Caz Event Manager creates the event as a simple WooCommerce product and configures it as a virtual product because event attendance does not require physical shipping.
The Event and WooCommerce
Although the event is created through Caz Event Manager, it remains a WooCommerce product.
This means WooCommerce continues to provide:
- Product information
- Customer checkout
- Orders
- Payments
- Customer records
Caz Event Manager adds the event-specific management layer.
The relationship is:

Adding the Event to the Public Booking Page
Caz Event Manager provides the:
[caz_events]
shortcode for displaying upcoming events.
The plugin automatically creates a public bookings page during activation.
The default page is:
Book a Workshop
The page can be changed from:
Caz Events → Settings → Public Bookings Page
The public event listing displays available events in a card-based layout.
Customers can see the event and select the appropriate booking option.
Event Availability
Caz Event Manager uses the event capacity and booking information to determine availability.
An event can appear as:
Book
when places are available.
When the event reaches capacity, it can appear as:
Sold Out
When the waitlist is enabled, a full event can also provide:
Join Waitlist
This gives customers a clear indication of the current booking state.
Creating an Event as a Draft
You do not have to publish an event immediately.
Create the event and select:
Draft
This is useful when you need to prepare an event before making it public.
You can later edit the event and change its status to:
Published
before opening it for bookings.
Editing an Existing Event
Existing events can be edited from the Caz Events event list.
Select the event you want to change.
You can update information such as:
- Event name
- Date
- Start time
- Finish time
- Venue
- Capacity
- Price
- Image
- Description
- Published/draft status
After making changes, select:
Update Event
The associated WooCommerce product is updated with the new information.
Cloning an Event
Caz Event Manager includes an event-cloning function.
This is useful when you run similar events repeatedly.
For example:
Beginner Mosaic Workshop — November
can be cloned to create:
Beginner Mosaic Workshop — December
After cloning an event, review the new event carefully.
In particular, check:
- Event name
- Date
- Start time
- Finish time
- Venue
- Capacity
- Price
- Image
- Description
- Published status
This ensures the new event contains the correct information for its new session.
Creating an Event Through WooCommerce
Events can also be created or edited from the normal WooCommerce product interface.
Go to:
Products → Add New
The Caz Event Manager event fields are added to the WooCommerce product settings.
Enable:
This product is an event
Then configure:
- Event Date
- Venue
- Capacity
The Caz Event Manager event information is stored against the WooCommerce product.
For normal event creation, however, the dedicated:
Caz Events → Add New
workflow is simpler because it provides all of the event fields in one place.

What Happens Next?
Once an event has been created and published, Caz Event Manager can manage the event throughout its booking lifecycle.
The next stage is:
Customer Booking → Attendee Management
Caz Event Manager records bookings associated with the event and provides the organiser with an attendee list.
From there, organisers can manage attendees, cancellations, waitlists, communications and event-day check-in.
